Planning Your Organizing Journey

Find answers to the most common questions about consultations, organizing sessions, pricing, products, policies, and what to expect when working with Neatsie.

Consultations & Booking

Do you charge for a consultation?

Residential and life-transition consultations are complimentary. These focused conversations help us understand your space, goals, challenges, timeline, and the level of support you need before recommending the best next step.

Consultations are designed to create clarity before beginning a project. During your session, we’ll discuss your goals, pain points, routines, timeline, budget considerations, and priorities. You’ll receive recommendations, possible solutions, and a clearer understanding of the support available.

No need to tidy up before we arrive—seeing your space as it functions day to day helps us create realistic, sustainable systems. If applicable, gathering thoughts on goals, frustrations, and priorities can be helpful.

That’s what the consultation is for. Whether you’re organizing your home, preparing for a move, or navigating a life transition, we’ll help you choose the support that fits your needs.

Start with a consultation. Every organizing project is different, and understanding your goals is the first step toward creating practical systems designed to support long-term success.

Availability varies depending on season and project scope. Larger projects, life transitions, and moving support are encouraged to be scheduled as early as possible to allow adequate planning.

A non-refundable deposit may be required to reserve project dates, depending on the scope of services. Deposit requirements will always be discussed prior to booking.

Full payment is due on the day of service before sessions begin unless otherwise outlined in your proposal or agreement. Accepted payment methods may include credit/debit cards, Zelle, and, in some cases, cash.

Qualified residential clients seeking financing of $2,000 or more for professional organizing services and related project products may explore options through Acorn Finance’s network of participating lenders. Checking available offers uses a soft credit inquiry and does not affect your credit score. Financing is subject to lender approval and terms. Neatsie is not a lender and does not make credit decisions.

Proposals reflect anticipated project scope; however, adjustments may occur if additional time, products, travel, or services are requested. Any changes will be communicated transparently.

Please provide at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions canceled within 48 hours—except in cases of true emergency—may be subject to cancellation fees. Fees may be waived or credited at Neatsie’s discretion.

Absolutely. Choosing support for your home or life transition is personal. Questions are welcome before booking to ensure services feel like the right fit.

Sessions & Expectations

What happens during an organizing session?

Each project begins with understanding your routines, goals, and challenges. Sessions may include decluttering, sorting, categorization, creating systems, labeling, product recommendations, and implementing solutions designed specifically for your lifestyle or workflow.

For many projects, involvement is encouraged during decision-making portions. Depending on the service and your preferences, portions of the work may be completed independently once goals and expectations are established.

No. Spaces are most effectively assessed as they function in everyday life. There is no expectation to tidy before your session.

Project timelines vary depending on the size of the space, level of clutter, decision-making pace, and project goals. Some projects may require a single session while others benefit from ongoing support.

Not always. Some spaces require multiple sessions to create thoughtful, sustainable systems rather than quick fixes. Recommendations and expectations will be discussed openly throughout the process.

Session lengths vary by service. Many organizing projects are scheduled in multi-hour blocks to allow enough time for meaningful progress without feeling rushed.

That’s completely understandable. Organizing often intersects with routines, memories, life transitions, and emotional decisions. Sessions move at a pace that feels supportive while still creating progress.

No. Decisions always remain yours. Guidance may be provided to help evaluate usefulness, function, and priorities, but clients maintain control over what stays or goes.

Decision fatigue is common. Questions and recommendations are designed to simplify choices while respecting your comfort level, routines, and goals.

Yes. Organizing sentimental items often requires additional patience and support. Projects involving inherited belongings, downsizing, grief, or major life changes are approached thoughtfully and without judgment.

The goal is not perfection—it’s function. Systems are designed around how you live, your routines, and what can realistically be maintained long-term.

Yes, although minimizing distractions during decision-making portions may improve efficiency depending on project scope.

Long-term success comes from creating realistic systems tailored to routines. Optional maintenance support and refresh sessions may also be available.

Products, Purchasing & Donations

Are organizing products included in services?

Not always. Product needs vary by space, goals, and budget. Some projects require little to no additional products, while others benefit from storage solutions, labels, shelving, or customized systems.

Not necessarily. Existing bins, baskets, containers, and storage solutions are used whenever practical. Recommendations are provided only when products would improve function, efficiency, or long-term success.

Clients may choose to purchase recommended products independently or have Neatsie source items on their behalf. Product sourcing services may include additional time or fees depending on project scope.

Recommendations are based on your routines, lifestyle, goals, budget, aesthetics, and how the space functions daily. The goal is practical systems—not simply adding more containers.

Yes. Neatsie offers thoughtfully selected organizing products designed to support functional living and sustainable systems. Recommendations often reflect products used in real client projects.

It’s usually best to wait. Product recommendations are most effective after understanding the space, measurements, routines, and project goals.

Absolutely. Existing products are incorporated whenever possible to reduce unnecessary spending and create systems that work with what you already have.

Items selected for donation may be dropped off at local donation centers depending on service agreements and project scope. Donation options will be discussed during sessions.

Donation drop-off support may be available; however, certain items—including hazardous materials, expired products, or oversized disposal items—may require alternative arrangements.

When donation drop-off services are included, receipts may be provided when available from donation organizations. Availability depends on the receiving facility.

Yes. Paper management projects may include guidance for sorting, organizing, archiving, and identifying documents appropriate for secure shredding or disposal.

Decision-making support is part of the process. Questions and recommendations are designed to simplify choices while respecting your priorities and comfort level.

No. The goal is intentional decision-making—not removing belongings unnecessarily. Clients always maintain control over final decisions.

Product return policies vary depending on retailer, timing, and condition. Whenever possible, recommendations aim to reduce unnecessary purchases.

Results Maintenance

Will my space stay organized after sessions are complete?

Long-term success depends on creating systems designed around your routines, habits, and lifestyle. The goal is sustainable organization—not temporary results.

Life changes, and your organizing systems may need to change with it. We share simple routines to help you maintain progress between visits. If a space becomes difficult to manage, we can review what is no longer working and recommend adjustments or additional organizing support.

Systems created around realistic routines often remain effective for years. Periodic adjustments may be beneficial during major life changes, growing families, moves, or changing work demands.

Yes. Maintenance is available for clients with scheduled regular organizing services. Choose monthly, every-other-month, or quarterly visits to reset frequently used spaces, guide light decluttering, and adjust existing systems as your needs change. We agree on priorities at the beginning of each visit and work within your scheduled session.

Absolutely. Returning clients often schedule additional sessions for new spaces, changing routines, life transitions, or maintaining established systems.

Yes. Recommendations and systems are designed around how you live, work, and function—not generic organizing trends.

Our six-month memberships provide a personalized plan and regular organizing sessions to help you make steady progress throughout your home. Yes. Organization is not one-size-fits-all. Adjustments may be recommended if routines evolve or certain systems are not functioning as intended.

Client satisfaction matters. If concerns arise, please reach out within 14 business days. A complimentary adjustment session may be offered when appropriate.

Depending on services provided, follow-up communication or maintenance recommendations may be offered to support long-term success.

Small habits often create the biggest long-term impact. Systems are designed to simplify routines and reduce maintenance wherever possible.

Additional support can be scheduled as priorities evolve. Organization should adapt to changing seasons of life—not remain rigid.

Organization is ongoing because life is ongoing. The goal is creating flexible systems capable of evolving alongside your needs.

Signs of success often include:

  • Reduced daily stress
  • Easier routines
  • Improved efficiency
  • Faster decision-making
  • Better use of space
  • Greater peace of mind

Organization is often felt before it’s noticed.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is creating practical systems, calmer spaces, and thoughtful support designed to make everyday life feel easier.
